Age: Over 18
Current Character(s): N/A

IC Information

Name: Della Duck
Canon: DuckTales (2017)
Canon Point: Post-"The Last Adventure"
Age: 36

Background: Wiki link

Character Summary:
-Impulsive: Though she's matured a bit in this regard, Della always has, and always will, deal with a level of impulse control issues. Though she does strategize, it's not something she dedicated a lot of time to, or any when she's emotional enough. She acts fast and is also very reactive. On this note, the iconic Donald Duck temper is present in Della Duck, as well. It's not as strong, but she still gets worked up easily. This also is true for her getting excited in a happy way.

-Maternal: Above all, at the end of the day, Della is a mother. Parenthood is her calling, even if she wasn't ready for it when she started on it. But she's grown to be a truly caring mother who is (mostly, at least when it's truly important) responsible. She loves her boys and the rest of her family, and would give up anything for them. She's constantly working to be better at being a mom, and her maternal nature isn't limited to her family members.

-Clever: Della has a knack for seeing the angles of a situation and working out a plan based on them. She's also generally bright-- True, her impulsive and emotional nature often overshadows this, but she rebuilt a spaceship and her own artificial leg. Engineering and piloting/navigation are notable ways her intelligence manifests itself, even if her wisdom can be lacking.

-Determined: Della has, on more than one occasion, proclaimed that "Nothing can stop Della Duck!". This is pretty much true, she's extremely dedicated, determined, and hard-working. Sure, she likes to have plenty of fun while she's getting a job done, but all the same-- She's going to get that job done, and get it done well.

-Adventurous: Della loves to explore, treasure-hunt, and go on adventures. It's her second calling, and she has so much fun with it. Della is bold and brave, unafraid of taking risks and getting into some trouble. Her adventurous nature is fueled by thrill-seeking and curiosity, as well as a lineage of heroics she's proud to be part of.

-Always Keep In Mind: Della will never be a (stereo)typical mother, but she's become a good mother. She still has some way to go, but she's really putting her all into being the best mom she can be, not to mention the best niece and sister.

(For transparency's sake, I'll point out that the above section of the app is directly lifted from a previous app on my canon Della journal)

Powers: Della has no unique abilities or supernatural powers but she has her skills. Notably, she's a pilot, and was able to rebuild a broken spaceship, as well as fashion herself a functional artificial leg - the takeaway here is that while Della may be foolish and impulsive, she's ultimately very bright! She's also skilled in combat and generally quite agile and active. She has a number of basic camping/survival skills, and experience with trapping.

[community profile] legendsdreamwidthooc opt-out

Opt Out
minor themes of trauma & questionable parenting
While canon doesn't often get super dark with it, and I tend to skew the same way, Della did opt to take a one-woman flight to the moon when the eggs of her triplet sons were due to hatch soon. The choice wasn't made with any intent of abandoning her children, but all the same she wound up stuck in space for the first ten or so years of their lives. Tied into this is Della's trauma regard the consequences of her impulsive decision-- She missed out on her sons' formative years and was also entirely alone for most of her time on the moon. Della also had to amputate her own leg after crashing on the moon. In addition to the complete opt-out, feel free to comment if any/all of the above themes are things you'd like to avoid coming up!
